A herd of elephants crossing the dry plains in Amboseli Nation Park.
Amboseli National Park in Kenya is fascinating with the diverse landscape in this area south of Nairobi, bordering Tanzania. Sandy Desert patches, water filled swamps and savannah grasslands seamlessly going over to each other. Above all thrones Mount Kilimanjaro like a king over his land. It rules the weather for this area and its snow covered peaks feeds the swamps rich with water.
I saw this elephant herd appearing far away in the distance and decided to wait for them to come closer, convinced that they make their route to the rich swamps close by.
The energy and determination these elephants moved, having only one target. They didn’t stop once, just marched with fast pace.
The ground they walked on was a bit elevated so I was able to capture the passing herd in my preferred angle, putting the observer on one level with the scene.
