IMAGE STORY

There is something fascinating about photographing a rhinoceros. I set off in the early hours of the morning, driven by a desire that’s similar to finding a treasure. When we came down into the valley and discovered this beautiful rhino with it’s long horn and it’s two calves, I was totally stunned. The scene felt unreal, and very precious; it felt beautiful and delicate, but also strong and majestic.

Especially because this species has become so endangered and threatened through poaching, I feel personally obliged to show the world the beauty of this pre-historic animal. The rhino is part of our heritage and, if it becomes extinct, it will be like taking away our pride. We must not allow this to happen. I hope I am able to preserve this composition as I felt it on that sacred morning.

• This image of the Pride of Africa Collection (African Wildlife) is available to purchase as a limited edition print in 5 different sizes.
• The edition size of the Pride of Africa Collection photographs is 101 prints per image plus Artist Proofs of which each size has a certain amount of prints allocated to it.
• All original photographs by Klaus Tiedge (+01.07.2019) are now released as an estate print with an embossed signature of Klaus Tiedge on the front (bottom right) and are released by the artistʼs wife Sandra Tiedge with a detailed authorisation on the back of the print.

• As our standard we are using Giclee printing method on high quality archival fine art paper e.g. Hahnemühle German Etching, Epson Cold Press paper.
