PRINT DESCRIPTION
Portrait of a traditional San woman taken during my travels in Namibia. This tribe represents the cradle of humankind. I was truly fascinated while I spent a couple of days living with these people in Southern Namibia. We went hunting with them, learnt how to make fire the ancient way and danced an sang with them. It was a very memorable and unique experience for me, which I will never forget.
During the post production process the colors were desaturated, creating a type of collage work that shows the pride and beauty of these indigenous people of Namibia and Southern Africa.
IMAGE STORY
I have travelled to many rural places in Namibia, Botswana and Kenya to capture the spirit of people who still live a very primordial life – visited the Himba, Bushmen and Massai.
And I truly felt inspired when I could connect with them through the eyes of my camera.
When portraying the people of Africa my aim is to show how I see things and what my impression was in that moment when the photograph was taken. “Modern society doesn’t stop and the old rituals and appearances are soon fading from view. So I want to preserve the original and tribal look of these people that are the heritage of the African continent.”
This is what the collection of my Tribal portraits is about.
AUTHENTICITY
- This image of the Pride of African collection ™ (African Tribes) is available as limited edition prints in an edition of 99.
- We suggested a few sizes that work well but any printable size can be arranged; price are subject to size and may change
- All original photographs by Klaus Tiedge (+01.07.2019) are now released as an estate print with an embossed signature of Klaus Tiedge on the front (bottom right) and are released by Sandra Tiedge, Klausʼ wife, with a detailed authorisation on the back of the print.

- As our standard we are using Giclee printing method on high quality archival fine art paper e.g. Epson Cold / Hot Press paper.

- We ship worldwide.
- For international orders we ship with courier services such as DHL or Fedex within 3-10 working days with a door to door service.
- For local orders we ship with courier company withing 3-4 working days.
- Shipping charges may apply for special requests such as express service and shipping of framed/mounted artworks.
- Kindly note, that although we will mark the artwork as an original piece of art, you might still be liable for customs payments for your country if applicable.
