After 3 weeks of of intense safari photography & videograpghy it was time to slow down and relax. With my family now having joined me in the Maasai Mara we made our way for a weeks stay at the incredible Angama Mara Lodge. I had stayed at Angama 2 years previously and was so excited to be able to share this magnificent experience with my wife and children.
There was so much to experience we had to make 3 videos to give you the full experience.
Angama Mara is more than just an African Bush Lodge. It is a floating dream. An experience of pure comfort and relaxation. The most striking feature is of course the view. Angama Mara is placed strategically 300m above the Maasai Mara on the westerns escarpment.
With only 15 tents in your Camp you will never feel like you are around many people as you get to enjoy the sounds of nature in absolute peace. The tens are stunning. The videos say it all, but i have to reiterate the feeling of “Home-away-from-Home” is awe inspiring.
It is absolutely no wonder that Angama Mara has been voted the no 1 lodge in Africa.
I can repeat this over and over again – the people of Kenya are incredibly friendly and helpful. Angama takes this to a whole new level. The staff of Angama Mara become your family. My children were absolutely mad about Terry. With so many activities for them to engage in from Beading, to walking safaris, to the swimming pool & the library, Sandra and I could really enjoy our time together too. I would just like to thank everyone there for making our time incredibly special.
Other highlights for my family were the fantastic lunches packed for our safari outings and the great entertainment at night with fires and Maasai songs and dancing. The Bush BBQ (which we got to experience twice) as well as the sun downer drinks at the Boma, were special special times.
a very special place
A special thank you goes out to Tyler Davies & Adam Bannister. They made our experience of making a film for both us and them an absolutely pleasure. With special attention to dietary requirement as well as unique experiences booked just for us. (like the Helicopter ride to the Mara Elephant Project) We felt absolutely spoiled and consider ourselves very lucky to have experienced your kind hospitality.
Angama Mara is like a dream come true.
