Very calming and piece of art with lots of breathing space while showcasing the greeting of two lioness a symbol for family, friendship and togetherness.
It was cloudy and cool in the Masai Mara and we were more comfortable as the previous days. We managed to catch up once more with the same pride of lions that we observed the last couple of days.
But like a typical lion pride, the whole gang laid lazy in the grass and under the trees … we on the other hand were in full anticipation of something great happening.
So I sat there, my camera resting on the beanbag on the window rim, thinking to myself, “today it seems not like an adventurous lion sight…”
Later some lionesses stood up from the crowd and started moving around.
Two lionesses separated a bit further from the pride came into my vision. As I took a couple of shots from them moving around, I was very lucky to capture them when they greeted each other. While the one lioness rubbed her head against the other one, it really took me in. There was so much emotion and love that I could feel them showing through this special behavior that reconfirms not only their bond to each other but also their belonging to the particular pride.
