Planning your day when out on safari

Planning your day when on safari or not?

When going on safari you are mostly overexcited. You can’t wait to see lots of animals and might be disappointed if it doesn’t work out the way you planned. But is it advisable to plan your day when on safari?
Klaus tells us that sometimes he has a particular image in his mind that he like to take and yes, then it might be essential for him to plan his day. But it can also happen that he doesn’t have a plan because he is new to the are and hasn’t had an encounter on previous days yet.

If there is no plan, Klaus likes to discuss with his safari guide because he knows the area and therefore the habitat of the animals. Where and how they might roam according to their history and preferential.

After a few days you can decide if you like to follow up with a sighting you had the day before. But it’s always a decision making because as often in life you can’t know if it works out. But Klaus recommends: “just go out there and explore. It’s similar to exploring a new town or country.” Furthermore he adds: “and if you find e.g. a lion, but nothing is happening for a while, don’t leave!”

If it’s a beautiful surrounding and animal, just stay. The lion will move eventually and give you the opportunity to take a good picture. Just wait. Have patience. It often takes a good amount of time to get to your image and don’t forget it is still nature.

Unpredictable things can happen also; for the good and the bad. You can only plan to a certain degree.

Just consider when you are going out on safari the next time.
